Jeannie Sandidge

Jeannie Sandidge grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and then went to college in Mississippi. She and her husband Rick moved to Pueblo in 1994.  Jeannie worked in Commercial Lending, ending her banking career as Loan Operations Manager at Bank of the San Juans.  They are both now retired.

In 2000, Rick and Jeannie decided to purchase an airplane and learn to fly it.  This began their long relationship with the Pueblo Memorial Airport.  They both earned their private pilot licenses and have been “airport bums” ever since.  Rick is still actively flying, Jeannie co-pilots when she can. 

While they were working, they would drive by the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum and think, “someday when we retire, we should volunteer there!” So, when Rick retired in 2016, he began volunteering in the Restoration Department.  When Jeannie retired in 2019, Rick told her, “You need to volunteer at the museum, but not in Restoration – I need my space.”  She started working in the gift shop in 2020, was elected as Secretary of the Pueblo Historical Aircraft Society in 2021. In late 2022 when President Mike Wright had to step down due to health reasons, she was appointed as President.  She was re-elected as President in December 2023. 

Jeannie has a passion for the museum and for the history that it represents.  While she was never in the military, her dad was in the Navy and her father-in-law retired from the Air Force.  Her husband was in the Army.  Her son served for 9 years in Army Special Operations.  Her daughter-in-law was in the Army.  Jeannie greatly appreciates our veterans and their service.  And she loves aviation.
