The FAA announced $870 million in Airport Infrastructure Grants (AIG) funding, awarding 339 grants to airports in 44 states and two U.S. territories. The package, funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, supports runway and taxiway rehabilitation, terminal improvements, baggage system upgrades, roadway/access work, and other safety-related projects. Major awards went to Los Angeles International ($289 million for a new terminal access road) and Miami International ($50 million for terminal roof reconstruction), alongside smaller grants to regional airports like Akron-Canton, Juneau International, and Charleston International. FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford said the agency is “releasing grants at record speed” to keep pace with growing travel demand.
