John Putnam is a Partner at the law firm of Kaplan Kirsch LLP in Denver, Colorado, where he has represented airports across the United States. In addition to John’s work at the Firm, he has served as the Senate-confirmed General Counsel for the United States Department of Transportation overseeing all aviation legal issues, as Director of Environmental Programs for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and as Senior Advisor to the Colorado Department of Transportation. John’s practice has focused on navigating complex federal, state, and local requirements to deliver innovative solutions for infrastructure, sustainability, and safety challenges. John currently serves as the Chair of the Front Range Passenger Rail District and as Chair of the Legal Resources Section of the United States Transportation Research Board.
