Rich Murray
PFAS and Emerging Contaminants Coordinator in the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division (HMWMD) at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)
Rich Murray is the PFAS and Emerging Contaminants Coordinator in the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division (HMWMD) at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Rich’s background is in environmental engineering with a focus on site remediation and waste management strategies. He is a registered professional engineer in Colorado with 10 years of experience as an environmental consultant before joining CDPHE in December 2024.
In his current role, Rich collaborates to find solutions to address PFAS and other emerging contaminants across the Division’s Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, and Remediation programs. He also works with peers in the Water Quality Control Division and Division of Environmental Health and Sustainability to advance Colorado’s PFAS Action Plan and other emerging contaminant initiatives.
Outside of work you can find Rich on the ski slopes, at the pottery wheel, or hiking and camping in remote places.
